This 10 week project was an extraordinary collaboration between select SCAD students and Sam Edelman's core product creation team, including Sam and Libby Edelman. We were tasked to create a collection of sneakers for the first half of 2024 based off the following guidelines.

The team divided into role specific groups in order to focus our skill sets on each facet of the project. We regularly met as a large group, or cross functionally to keep up to date on each other's work and assure our vision was heading in the same direction.

In addition to the style guides given to us by Sam Edelman, we did further research based off WGSN, Pantone, Current Markets, Consumer Input and Social Media

Initial ideas before we met with marketing team and narrowed our direction. At this point I hadn't considered what differentiates women's footwear from mens.

At this point we had enough ideas to begin categorizing. Myself and two partners compiled our ideas on a wall.

I developed a mock up of our design for January. The purpose of this mock up allowed the Sam Edelman Team to hold our vision in their hands and see what the design looked like with real materials. It was received well, as this design made it through to the final developed shoes.

We moved forward with starred designs, applying material and colors, ultimately making physical mock-ups.

6 months after our final presentation, our designs were launched through a Nordstrom x Sam Edelman collaboration. 5 of our designs were taken and produced and are available at Nordstrom from March 4th-31st.
